The next morning I met John Taylor over at Larry's. His rig consisted of a M37 with an A-frame hoist, too cool! While he prepped the block to install, I pulled the front clip off. A couple of hours later the block was in place. I spent the afternoon back over at John Ferrie's rounding up odds and ends that I'd be bringing back, the transmission, spare tire and holder, various linkage components, etc.

I took the pickup down to an alignment shop Thursday morning to correct a shimmy problem I was having. It was discovered that one of the front tires was a half lb. out of balance and the front axle was bent, throwing the camber off. They weren't able to correct the camber because of needing offset spindles, so the tires were balanced and rotated. (Note: the front end was repaired after I got back to Los Angeles). When I had finished there, I picked up the trailer and took it over to Larry's to load up the Carryall. John Ferrie met me over there with an extra large come-along. That and four able bodies coaxed the long silent Carryall onto the trailer. I secured it with four heavy ratchet straps, two on each axle. Backing up the straps were 4x4 beams fore and aft against the tires. Once everything had been triple checked, I took it out for a test run. It trailed real nice. That V-10 pulled the beast without even breaking a sweat! I was satisfied with the load.
